5th Grade Acids and Bases
We used red cabbage as an indicator to test pH on a variety of liquids and solutions.
They complained only about the smell of the cabbage juice, otherwise I only heard young scientists hard at work.
This is an AIMS lesson and a good one! The students used a color change as an indicator that a chemical change had taken place.

Mrs. Sarah Cook and Mrs. Janis Kmiec are the lead investigators at CSI. Mrs. Cook manages the lab lessons as well as the Science Curriculum for BISD. Mrs. Kmiec leads the technology lab investigations. Both teachers love making CSI fun, exciting, and full of learning for their students.
That smelled so bad.......but it was fun and I had a blast!
