Oysters Anyone?
This was last Friday's lesson with 6th Grade! Awesome Oysters 101! Thanks to Dr. Greg Phillips from Blinn College who came to discuss oysters and talk about their unique anatomy. Students were given their own "oyster" to examine and compare to other living things.
Facts about these unique creatures are endless! Oysters can filter over 2 gallons of water every hour! As they clean and filter the water, which provides habitats for other marine creatures! Oysters babies are called "spat"!
Do you remember the taxonomy of the oyster? We will discuss this on Friday this week!
