All About Me, October 11, 2011

HALEY
Haley shared her sand dollar that she had found at the beach. She found it under the sand and it was still alive! We could even see the little hairs on the outsides. She also told us about participating in softball!

MAKAYLA
Makayla shared a beautiful rock collection that she had. We loved learning about her different colored and special rocks and how she came to collect each one.

COLTON
Colton brought his Harvester Ants. I am sooo glad he brought the picture! We could see how large they are. He explained how he takes care of them and what he feeds them. He is hoping to "add on" to his existing farm and have more ants!

CHRISTINA
Christina brought her collection of unique bracelets. She talked about where she got each one and how the bracelet was special to her.

We spent a little time learning about many of the "influential" people of the 20th century: Steve Jobs, Martin Luther King, Jr., Pablo Picasso, Albert Einstein, Amelia Earhart, Jim Henson, Ted Turner, John Lennon and more. The students knew many of these people and knew about how their accomplishments helped change the world.
