4th Grade Stonehenge and Spring Scales

We used the spring scale to compare the force of pulling a rock up an inclined plane vs. just lifting the rock without the inclined plane.
We all agreed that the inclined plane helps reduce the amount of work needed to move the rock! We used tables set at 10, 30, and 50 degree angles to pull our rocks.
In conclusion, we thought that the ancient people of Stonehenge may have moved the giant stones in the same way.

ALL ABOUT ME

WOW IT WAS HERMIT CRAB DAY AT CSI!

Kylie
Kylie brought her two hermit crabs. She said she likes them because they are an unusual pet. She really liked "Big Fella" and wanted to think of a new name for her brown crab. She couldn't decide between Spartan or Sam.

Nicholas

Nicholas brought his hermit crabs, too. He had five! I liked "Froggy" although the others were cool, too. Two of his had American Flag painted shells

Virginia

Virginia showed her rock collection and even let us sign our names on her rock box. She had some beautiful rocks to tell us about.
